Starbucks signs up for Square.

Square is an app used to accept credit card payment with an iPhone or iPad. Today, Square's founder, Jack Dorsey, made the following announcement:

I am pleased and proud to announce that today Starbucks signed up for Square…. It's amazing to think that Starbucks began as a single coffee shop in Seattle. The concept of taking a good idea and helping it grow is not foreign to them, and Starbucks doesn't just view Square as the simplest way to accept payments. They see an opportunity to extend and accelerate a model they grew up with: the idea that business is local and that community plays a vital role in job creation and economic vitality. As you know, Square is the app The Mac Instructor uses for accepting payment from an iPhone or iPad. Customers have enjoyed its super convenience. It's simply thrilling to see this technology continue to spread into large corporations. What you might not know is that there's an even easier way to pay a merchant who uses Square. Rather than using your credit card, you can download Square's wallet app. After you create an account, you'll be able to pay any Square merchant, such as The Mac Instructor, just by opening the app and approving the transaction. If you'd like to learn more about using Square for your business, please feel free to contact us or visit Square's website.
