New iPads, MacBook Pro, Mavericks, and more!

Apple announced a slew of new products and software yesterday, and I'd like to take a moment to tell you about each.

New MacBook Pro with Retina display

Several of you have been waiting for months for Apple to refresh their flagship laptops, and the day has finally come. They're much faster, and have an additional 8 hours of battery life! Learn more.

Don't forget that Macinstructor offers Personal Setup: we pick up both your old Mac from your home and the new Mac from the Apple Store, transfer your data, and then deliver the computers to your home the next day. Buying a new Mac couldn't be easier. Get started.

New iPad Air and iPad mini

The iPad has been redesigned and renamed: iPad Air. It's much thinner and has shed half a pound; it's 28% lighter and 20% thinner than the previous generation iPad. Oh, and it's about twice as fast, too! Learn more.

iPad mini has received a major update as well. It now sports a Retina display and faster processor, making it the perfect device for those who need to be highly mobile. Learn More.

Personal Setup isn't limited to just Macs. The new iPads will be available in November, and if you would like for us to set one up especially for you, please let us know. Click here.

Mavericks for Mac

The next major software upgrade for the Mac is here and includes many under-the-hood refinements and new features. Simply by installing Mavericks, you will notice a bit of a speed boost and battery gain in your Mac. You'll also find new apps, like Maps and iBooks. It's a fantastic upgrade, and the best part is that it's free.

Before you install Mavericks, please make sure that you have a valid backup of your Mac and that all your software is compatible. (For example, if you use an older version of QuickBooks, go to QuickBooks' website to make sure it runs on Mavericks.)

We would love to personally introduce you to Mavericks' new features. To book an appointment and learn how you can speed up your workflow, click here.

Updated iLife and iWork

Yes, there's more. Apple rolled out new updates to iPhoto, iMovie, Garageband, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. As you can imagine, we at Macinstructor are busy studying all the new changes! For now, I'll simply say they're easier on the eyes and have plenty of new ways to share your media and collaborate on documents.

Needless to say, yesterday's announcements have something for everyone. If you have questions about any of this, please don't hesitate to book a time for us to sit down and chat. Thank you!
