One of the first questions MacBook and MacBook Pro owners ask is, “How do I take care of my laptop’s battery?” Lots of different types of batteries have existed over the years, but for the newer, more efficient batteries within the Apple’s computers, there are basically two rules to keep in mind.
1. Don’t leave the laptop plugged in all the time. Batteries are like car tires: if hardly used, they’ll become unbalanced and useless.
2. At least once a month, let the battery fully drain and then fully charge. This allows the battery to stretch out and make sure each and every little corner of capacity is being used.
