iPad saves in a pinch!

It's always fun to receive emails like this from clients.

Rick, I wanted to share with you the following story which you are free to use or reproduce if you can use it to your advantage. It certainly made a big difference to me. Recently, my wife and I made an offer on a house in Fairhope. The sellers made a counter-offer. My wife and I decided to drive to Fairhope for another look at the house. We were agreeable to all but one term of the counter-offer and instructed our realtor to tell the sellers realtor about our proposed counter. So we get in our car in Tuscaloosa and head to Fairhope. Just as we were entering Thomasville, it struck me that we had never provided a written counter proposal and there had been a 4:00 p.m. deadline. It was about 3:45 p.m. when I called our realtor in a bit of a panic. He advised me that the realtor had extended the deadline to 6:00 pm, but needed our written counter-offer by then because another offer had been received. Now I really was in a panic. We were still more than two hours from Fairhope and the only electronic devices we had were my iPhone and my iPad2 with 4G. We were on Hwy 43 and I was not aware of any business close enough to help us out with a copier and fax.
I thought we were sunk until I remembered a seminar I recently had taken with The Mac Instructor. Rick Stawarz of The Mac Instructor had introduced me to PDF Expert and demonstrated how you could use the app to sign a PDF document. I pulled the car over so my wife to drive, called my realtor, and had him email me the counter-offer as a PDF. I then opened PDF Expert and begin reviewing the process for creating a signature. I created my signature, had my wife pull over so she could create her signature, and then waited for the counter-offer. The counter-offer email arrived, I opened the attached in PDF expert, I added our two signatures, and then emailed the counter-offer back to my realtor. He then was able to forward the counter-offer to the sellers' realtor with minutes to spare. We made the deadline, and are on target to owning a retirement home in Fairhope. Noah
